August 31, 1997 was the date a tragic accident happened that involved Princess Diana.  Was Princess Diana’s tragic accident that led her to her death really an accident at all?  Princess Diana was a youthful, kind, woman recently divorced from her husband Prince Charles the third of England. The night of the accident Princess Diana was in a car with her boyfriend Dodi Al- Fayed along with driver Heneri Paul and bodyguard Trevor Rees- Jones. Dodi Fayed, Diana’s partner, and Henri Paul, their chauffeur, were found dead inside the car. Princess Diana was kept alive until she died in the hospital at 4:35 a.m., two-hours after the crash. Let's walk through the upbringing of Princess Diana and what led up to this tragic incident.

Princess Diana growing up, before she was a princess, she was a shy but affectionate child with her respectful and mischievous sides to her (Keck 1). Growing up Diana studied ballet and wanted to become a professional ballet dance but had to quit because she had grown too tall (Park). Though Princess Diana loved to study ballet she was never the best at school.  Until she was nine years old Diana was homeschooled. After nine she attended boarding school until she failed her O-Level exams twice and dropped out at 16. All though she dropped out she worked as a nanny and a teacher before she met Prince Charles.

She had many jobs after school and one of them being a nanny and a kindergarten teacher. With only being paid $5 an hour to do laundry, clean, and play with the children. She worked as a kindergarten teacher part-time in London’s Pimlico area. When she married Prince Charles in 1981, she was the first ever royal bride to have had a paying job. Diana was questioned if she loved teaching and why she chose the job, and her answer was simple – she really loved kids. “I just absolutely adore children, that’s why… I just love children,” she says in an old interviewing that was shared on YouTube (Storey 1).

Along with the versa reasons she was an “icon” she was always known for being a fashion icon from before and after her marriage with her late husband (Park). Her wedding dress even broke records (Park). Weeding dress made by husband-and-wife team David and Elizabeth Emanuel (Park). Her gown had over 10,00 pearls and 25-foot-long train one of the longest trains the world had ever seen (Park). In just a few months before passing Diana held a Christies auction which was compiled of 79 of her iconic dresses to raise money for AIDS and cancer charities.

A big grouping of people Diana advocated for were people with AIDS (Perry). Princes Diana helped wildly change the way public looked on people with AIDS by opening an HIV / AIDS unit is London’s Middlesex Hospital and shook patient hands (Mallenbaum 1). Along with her eye opening of closeness to HIV / AID patients, she raised money for AIDS and cancer charities. She would also regularly visit HIV-positive patients in the hospital and hold their hands (Perry). Since the pacing of his mother, Prince Harry continues to help fight against HIV patients (Reidel 1).

As you can see Diana was an amazing role model for her children and just loved so much. As Prince Harry and Prince Charles continue to fulfill their late mothers work you can see how much of an impact, she left on them and the people. What happened to Princess Diana was unfortunate and will never be forgotten. Now let’s look at some conspiracy theories that might piece together some of your imaginative minds.

The first conspiracy theory implied that Princess Diana’s car crash that led to her death, along with three others, was possibly planned. Princess Diana had written a letter in 1995 which read: "My husband is planning 'an accident' in my car, brake failure and serious head injury," (Petit 1). She believed that the tragic accident would leave Prince Charles to be able “to marry” said Princess Diana in the letter to her previse butler Paul Burrell (Smith 1). John Stevens, head of the Scotland Yard, had told “Daily Mail” that he had spoken with Prince Charles about the note that Princess Diana had written. This was after the note had become public in 2003. St. James’s Palace is where Prince Charles was interviewed as witness to the two-year ongoing investigation (Petit 1). Stevens told the outlet, "We found no other evidence to support the scenario suggested in Diana's note" (Petit 1).

The second conspiracy suggest that Princess Diana’s driver was under the influence and driving recklessly at nearly twice the speed limit in the Pont de I’Alma tunnel in Paris (Sager 1). It is to be believed that Henri Paul, the driver, was trying to avoid photographers. In an attempt of fleeing, while being intoxicated, crashed into a wall of the tunnel. Then, hit a pillar supporting the tunnel at approximately 90 mph - 120 mph (Noveck 1). It is to be told by some conspiracy theorist that the drivers alcohol levels in his blood may not be his own, “As for the alcohol level in Henri’s blood, conspiracy theorists have suggested the sample was taken from a suicide victim and not Henri. They believe Henri was sober that night” (“6 Conspiracy Theories About the Death of Princess Diana Debunked”).

The final conspiracy theory, Diana’s medics were in on it. Meaning the paramedics chose to go slow and not get to the hospital when she was dying (“6 Conspiracy Theories About the Death of Princess Diana Debunked”). Diana did not die do to impact and was still alive at the crime scene. Conscious Princess Diana had spoken to emergency workers moaning “Leave me alone” as she lied in the crashed Mercedes dying (Dahlburg 1).  When the ambulance finally got there, they “supposedly” delayed from getting her to the hospital (“6 Conspiracy Theories About the Death of Princess Diana Debunked”). Le Parisein, which published most of the details on the car wreck also stated that the ambulance took an hour to get from the crash site to La Pitie-Salpetriere Hospital when it was merely four blocks away. Some people believe that Princess Diana would still be here today if the paramedics would have gotten to her faster. Or if the medics on the scene did more to keep her stable.

In conclusion there are many speculations on the death of Princess Diana along with her boyfriend, Dodi Al- Fayed, driver Heneri Paul, and bodyguard Trevor Rees- Jones. Did Prince Charles have something to do with it? Was Heneri Paul really intoxicated that night? Did the Paramedics really do all they could? We may never know the full truth of what happened on August 31, 1997, at 00:23 a.m. But we hope that we gave you some insight on to what

happened that tragic day.  Princes Diana’s case remains heartbreaking, questionable and, could be twisted in many ways.
